IntelliJacks: The Smart Way to Go to Fix Sagging Floors

Schedule Your Free Inspection

If you notice your floors sagging don’t wait until it’s too late and don’t just put a bandage on it! This is a common issue in older homes but it is an issue that can be fixed. However, to ensure that it will last a lifetime, you need to make sure you have the right supplies to make this repair.

There are a couple solutions to this problem that are just bandages and will not ensure your floors to never sag again: Concrete columns and adding shimming. These two fixes are cheap and can be DYI projects. However, when it comes to Concrete Columns, it not only takes a lot of time to complete, it also is not a solution that is adjustable and as the concrete begins to settle into the soil there is no way of adjusting these supports. You may even have to begin the long, painful journey of continuously adding shims over and over as the house continues to settle and grow older. These are only temporary fixes and are not recommended if you are looking for something more stable and lasting.

I am sure if you ask someone about sagging floors you will get the idea of using a Jack in repairing the problem, but beware there are different types of Jacks and the right ones need to be used to really ensure that you will not have any other big problems that require a lot of maintenance in the future. There is what is called a Lighy-Duty Jack Post and although it may seem like a great solution because it is a metal jack that can be bought at your local hardware store and you can do it on your own, it is not the best option for permanently riding of your sagging floors. Light-Duty Jack Posts are exactly what it says it is: Light-Duty. These Jacks hold little weight, are difficult to adjust, and don’t completely address or resolve the issue.

So what does address and completely fix the issues of sagging floors?

A IntelliJack™ is what you need! They are steel supports that have been laboratory tested to support loads of more than 60,000 lbs which would be the most ideal way to stabilize your sagging floor with the additional weight of walls and loads from just living in the house.

These jacks are not only able to support the weight of your home above the crawlspace, but they also are adjustable and can be installed with a zinc-plated structural steel girder to ensure that the system will stay strong and undisturbed by the elements. This system will solve your problems once and for all!
